Ingrid has a decade of experience editing both literary fiction and poetry, having served on the editorial board of LICHEN Arts & Letters Preview, as well as a private reader and editor for authors whose acclaimed work has appeared with such publishers as Random House Canada, Knopf Canada, Coach House Books, House of Anansi Press, and others. As well, she has contributed numerous book reviews to and conducted author interviews for literary publications including Books in CanadaCNQ Canadian Notes & Queries, Quill & Quire, and Northern Poetry Review.

On a freelance basis, she accepts manuscripts of poetry, literary fiction, or creative nonfiction for critiquing and editing. Based on the writer’s needs, she provides constructive feedback and can customize her critique of the work to include such elements as: 
  • (for poetry) a broad review of the collection’s strengths and weaknesses, or a detailed review of individual poems, theme, and structure;
  • (for fiction) a preliminary review of plot, character, theme, etc., or a detailed review focusing on such aspects as structure and continuity;
  • (for all) a session of copyediting, to ready the manuscript for submission to a publisher.
